Raw foam is Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam cut down to the customers desired shape(s). Typically the installer of the raw foam shapes applies the foam to the wall with a special adhesive and then covers design with a mesh wiring before stuccoing. This process can mimic the look of wood, stone or precasted concrete at a substantially cheaper price, while being lighter and easier to install. This process is far more beneficial than using traditional building materials, as foam does not rot or mold.
Finished foam is the result of taking raw foam and spraying a hardener over it, followed by a layer of synthetic stucco. The end result is a super tough exterior that allows the piece to be durable and yet still allows it to keep the relatively light weight of foam. The installer then simply affixes the design to the building using a special construction grade adhesive that meets strict building codes and enables the piece to withstand even the most harsh weather.
